Nutley follows trend, establishes property registration

Nutley, NJ: Registration fees for vacant and abandoned property has been approved by the Board of Commissioners.

If a property is currently vacant and the owner is notified, or if a property becomes vacant in the future, the owner will have 60 days to file registration information with the city.

First year registration fee is $250, then $500 annually at the beginning of each following year.

Any property under construction will be required to pay $100 for a sign marking the property as exempt from vacant or abandoned registration evaluation. The exemption duration and contact information for the contractor in charge of the project will be listed on the sign, as established when the fee is paid.
