Jennings, MO, creates vacant property registration ordinance

Jennings, MO: A vacant property registration ordinance has been approved by the City Council.
 

The new ordinance will require owners of properties deemed vacant by the City to provide current contact information, as well as register the property in the vacant property database, and pay an annual fee of $200 per property.


Owners failing to maintain a vacant property to City code, and/or failing to register, or update about, the property and submit all associated fees and paperwork, may be subject to fines and additional actions by the City.


The City will have a public presentation and question/answer session at City Hall to discuss the newly established ordinance, at 6 p.m. CT July 24.
