Curwensville, PA, establishes vacant property registration ordinance

Curwensville, PA: The Borough has established a vacant property registration ordinance.

Owners of a vacant property must register the property by January 31 of each year, and pay a $200 fee; with subsequent renewals following same date and fee plan.

Any changes in ownership or information are due within 30 days of the change.

Vacant properties must be maintained to the International Property Maintenance Code as well as to all rules established in the Borough’s own Code, for the term of the vacancy.

Vacant properties will be inspected periodically, and may be reviewed to determine if they are abandoned or blighted, which may result in need for plans to rehabilitate the property or have it declared condemned.

Failure to adhere to the ordinance or its parts may result in fines of $300 or additional actions.
